You will not find Blu Rouge at your local paint store –
it is a special blend of colors.

Start with the blue velvet hues of Ray Lamontagne and Van Morrison
Then add the silky textures of The Eagles vocal harmonies,
The red hot guitar of Stevie Ray Vaughn,
The bold sounds of Tom Petty,
The gritty texture of The Rolling Stones,
Add a splash of Delbert McClinton, Otis Redding,
The Beatles, and The Doobie Brothers.

Put them all together and let the colors meld into one.

There you have it — BLU ROUGE.

Not your average color, and not your average band.

Blu Rouge Stage Set Up
Founded in Baton Rouge, LA in 2010, Blu Rouge is a unique mixture
brought together by 4 individuals with a variety of musical influences.

Drummer John Bolter grew up in the San Francisco Bay area and was heavily influenced by the incredible drummers he heard there. He is a perfectionist by nature, and lays the foundation that the rest of the band builds upon. Barry Hebert channels The Eagles, James Taylor, and Jimmy Buffet in his playing and singing. A singer/songwriter in his own right, Barry recently released his first solo cd, "Worn Wooden Floors". Our newest member, bassist/vocalist Bill Grass, has played throughout Louisiana, the United States, and Europe for over 30 years. His is the steady rhythm that, in conjunction with John Bolter, keeps the music pumping. Lead guitarist and vocalist Mike Atkinson was brought up on a diet of the guitar mastery found in Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, and The Allman Brothers. He continues to work at his craft to provide the audience with a sonic treat for the ears.

With such varied influences, it is little wonder that they create such a special blend of colors and textures in their music. A palate of sounds and styles brought together for one purpose - to show the world their vision of the music they love.
